Headline Event: Parkville Final Friday
Parkville Final Friday returns for the last Friday of summer in historic downtown Parkville. Main Street closes to traffic and fills with local artists, craft vendors, live music from regional bands, food trucks serving barbecue, tacos, and ice cream, and outdoor dining from downtown restaurants. Families browse the artisan booths while kids enjoy face painting and sidewalk chalk art. The relaxed street-festival atmosphere makes it a perfect low-cost evening out in the Northland. Free admission and free parking in the lots off Main Street and along the riverfront.

The dinner rush at downtown restaurants peaks around 6:30 p.m., so consider grabbing a table early or eating from the food trucks for a quicker meal. The live music typically continues until 9:00 p.m. and the best seats nearest the stage fill quickly after 6:00 p.m.

City Market Farmers Market
The City Market Farmers Market in Kansas City's River Market district brings together more than 150 vendors every Saturday. Shoppers find locally grown produce, farm-fresh eggs, artisan baked goods, cut flowers, gourmet mushrooms, and handmade crafts. Live music fills the air as families browse the open-air stalls at 20 E 5th Street in downtown Kansas City. The market runs year-round and is one of the largest and most diverse farmers markets in the region.
Gladstone Farmers Market
The Gladstone Farmers Market operates Saturdays through October at 601 NE 70th Street in downtown Gladstone. Late summer brings peak season produce including sweet corn, tomatoes, peaches, melons, peppers, and green beans from farms within 150 miles of the Northland. Vendors also offer farm-raised beef, fresh eggs, baked goods, jams, honey, and nursery plants. A friendly neighborhood market perfect for a Saturday morning errand with the family.
Honey Harvest at Union Cemetery Park
Union Cemetery Park in Kansas City hosts Honey Harvest, a free community event celebrating bees and urban agriculture. Visitors can watch beekeeping demonstrations, sample local honey, plant pollinator-friendly seeds to take home, and learn about native plants that support the local ecosystem. The park is at 227 E 28th Terrace in Kansas City, MO. This hands-on event is educational for all ages and a unique way to spend a Sunday morning in the urban core.
