Heartland Homes KC is led by Jason and Jana DeLong, a husband-and-wife real estate team helping Kansas City buyers, sellers, relocating families, and new-construction clients make better-informed decisions.
Our approach is different because our experience extends far beyond the closing table. We understand how homes are designed, built, renovated, marketed, financed, and sold, and we use that knowledge to help our clients see the complete picture before making a move.
A Career Built on Building
Jason's career began with a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas State University and a minor in Construction Science. He started renovating homes in 2001, later moving into homebuilding, residential development, real estate investing, and sales.
Over the years, Jason has helped develop more than 25 subdivisions, built more than 100 homes, renovated more than 150 properties, and participated in more than 1,000 buyer and seller transactions.
That experience changes the questions we ask.
We do not look only at the paint colors, countertops, or asking price. We evaluate the construction quality, floor plan, lot, neighborhood, improvement costs, future maintenance, resale potential, and long-term value.

Jana brings a strong eye for design, functionality, presentation, and the details that make a home work for everyday life. She also helps keep the process personal, organized, and focused on what matters most to each client.

We serve clients throughout the Kansas City metro on both the Missouri and Kansas sides, with especially deep experience in the Northland and surrounding communities.
